Turning Point Action's Controversial Endorsement of Ken Paxton Sparks Clash with Charlie Kirk's Legacy
Turning Point USA's political arm, Turning Point Action, has sparked controversy after endorsing Ken Paxton for the Texas Senate primary. The move has drawn sharp criticism from supporters of Charlie Kirk, the late founder of Turning Point USA, who championed traditional values and family-oriented conservatism. Kirk's legacy, rooted in advocating for marriage as a covenant, now appears to clash with the endorsement of a figure embroiled in personal and political scandals.

Paxton, Texas's current attorney general, faces a tight primary race against Senator John Cornyn. His campaign has gained momentum, with a recent University of Houston poll showing him leading with 38 percent of the vote. Cornyn trails at 31 percent, while Congressman Wesley Hunt holds 17 percent. The poll also suggests Paxton would edge out Cornyn in a potential runoff, 51 percent to 40 percent. Early voting for the March 3 primary begins next Tuesday, February 17.

The endorsement has reignited debates about the alignment of Turning Point Action's mission with Paxton's record. Critics point to allegations of corruption, an impeachment trial in 2023, and multiple claims of infidelity, including an affair with Tracy Duhon, a Christian influencer and mother of seven. Duhon's relationship with Paxton reportedly led to his wife, Texas State Senator Angela Paxton, filing for divorce last year. She cited the affair as a reason, though she attended his impeachment trial without voting on the outcome.

Paxton's own statement on the endorsement framed the move as a continuation of Kirk's legacy. He praised Turning Point Action for its role in defending
