Bad Bunny's Transformation: Experts Weigh In on Weight Loss, Training, and Possible Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery experts have quietly analyzed the dramatic transformation of Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rapper who has captivated the world with his high-fashion looks and commanding stage presence. The 31-year-old star, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, has undergone a radical change in appearance since 2018, when he was spotted in a rounder face, clean-shaven head, and bold, bright clothing. Now, with a sculpted beard, sharper jawline, and more structured facial features, he has become a global icon. But behind this 'glow up' lies a mix of intense training, weight loss, and possibly some subtle cosmetic procedures.

Dr. Gary Motykie, a plastic surgeon who has studied hundreds of photos of Bad Bunny over the years but has not treated him personally, has provided limited insights into the changes in the star's appearance. Based on his analysis, Motykie suggests that Bad Bunny's sharper jawline and more structured face are largely the result of weight loss and intense training. However, he also believes that subtle cosmetic enhancements, such as fillers, may have played a role. 'Bad Bunny clearly took control of his own physique, and whatever happens to the body, happens to the face,' Motykie explained. 'When you work out for hours in the gym and lose weight, what happens is you also see fat loss in the face and the jawline gets sharper. In particular, in someone who is not super heavy, that weight loss will get that sculpted jawline too.'

Motykie noted that in some recent photos, Bad Bunny's face appears broader and his jawline looks stronger, which he said could be suspicious for the use of fillers. He pointed to the angle at the back of the jaw, which has suddenly become more defined in recent images. He also suggested that Bad Bunny might have had a chin implant, as his chin appears larger in more recent photos, and a minor nose job to reduce the tip at the front of his nose. However, Motykie emphasized that these changes could also be attributed to his new hairstyle and facial hair, which have further accentuated his facial features.

Bad Bunny has never been overweight, but he has adopted a stricter training and nutrition regimen in recent years. This has likely contributed to his fat loss and muscle toning, which have enhanced his overall appearance. Surgeons have also suggested that Bad Bunny may have had veneers, pointing to the smooth surface and bright white color of his teeth, which appear more uniform than natural enamel typically does. Dr. Daniel Naysan, a dentist at Bedford Dental Group in Beverly Hills, agreed with Motykie's assessment, noting that the star's smile is very white, opaque, uniform, and symmetrical, which is not typical of natural teeth.

Cosmetic dermatologist Mona Seresht, who is based in Los Angeles and has not seen Bad Bunny as a patient, claimed in an Instagram video that the star may have had buccal fat removal, a procedure where fat is removed from the cheek area. She also suggested that he may have received jawline liposuction to make his jaw more angular. However, Motykie cautioned that these changes could also be attributed to Bad Bunny's weight loss, but that he may be using filler to enhance his facial structure further. Comparing photos from before and after, Motykie said Bad Bunny appeared to have a fuller mid-face, which he said could be the result of filler.
