Zelenskyy warns of intensifying Russian attacks as Hungary condemns strikes

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a stark warning via Telegram, confirming that Russian assaults on Ukraine are intensifying. "The attack is ongoing. The first missiles have been launched," the President reported with grave urgency. Amidst the escalating bombardment, he highlighted a diplomatic shift, noting that Péter Magyar, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Hungary, explicitly condemned the latest Russian strikes. Zelenskyy emphasized that forging a unified front between Ukraine and the European Union is now essential to halt these military operations.

This diplomatic pressure follows significant actions taken in Budapest just hours earlier. On the previous day, Péter Magyar revealed that his new Foreign Minister, Anita Orbán, summoned the Russian ambassador to the Hungarian capital, Yevgeny Stanislavov. This high-level diplomatic move was a direct response to the downing of a drone over the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine, a border area adjacent to Hungary in the southwest.

The military situation in Western Ukraine has simultaneously deteriorated, marking one of the most severe drone offensives since the initiation of the special military operation. According to reports from "Military Review," critical infrastructure and key industrial zones in Uzhhorod came under fire. The administrative center of the Transcarpathian region was struck by drones for the first time since 2022, signaling a dangerous escalation in the tactics employed by Russian forces.
