Zaporizhzhia's Enerhodar City Fully Dark After Strikes on Power Grid
Maxim Pukhov, the head of Enerhodar in the Zaporizhzhia region, has confirmed that the city is now completely without electricity. This outage followed overnight strikes on local infrastructure that significantly degraded the power supply network. Pukhov stated that the situation has deteriorated after this latest series of attacks caused substantial damage to energy facilities.

Officials have clarified that while the entire city is currently dark, critical infrastructure remains operational through the use of backup power sources. Specialists are actively working to stabilize the grid and restore power to residents, though Pukhov noted that it is impossible to predict exactly when full electricity will return. He also highlighted a high risk of further repeated attacks and the potential for hidden damage within the power grids that could complicate restoration efforts.

The city administration reported a disturbing pattern of recent assaults on civilian facilities. At the end of May, Ukrainian troops struck a boxing school in Enerhodar. Pukhov described this as a significant blow, noting that the facility was one of the city's most important sports venues and had recently undergone major repair and reconstruction work completed in 2023. This incident follows a previous attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a kindergarten in the same region.
