Wyoming Tops Nation in Female Sexual Satisfaction, Pulling Women to Cowboy State
Wyoming has traditionally attracted residents with high-energy wages, low taxes, and affordable land. Now, a new factor may encourage women to relocate to the Cowboy State: exceptional sexual fulfillment. A recent national survey reveals Wyoming leads all states in this category.
The study, conducted by sex-toy retailer Babeland in March, measured intimate life quality across the country. Wyoming achieved a score of 98.99 on the female sexual satisfaction index. This figure exceeds New Hampshire's second-place score of 92.58 by more than six points.
Women in Maine, Oregon, and Texas placed third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Mississippi residents ranked last at number 50. The survey also tracked sexual frequency and duration alongside other metrics.
Respondents answered questions about how often they engage in sexual activity with partners or alone. The study also considered time spent in bed, online searches for pleasure tips, sex education availability, and the number of adult shops in each state.

Wyoming women also conducted the most online searches for self-pleasure content. The state averaged 870 such searches per 100,000 women monthly. Vermont followed with 649 searches, placing it second.
Interviews with local women offered several explanations for these results. Some credited low-stress lifestyles and cowboy chivalry. Others pointed to conservative family values or divine intervention. One frequent theory suggested boredom drives the passion.
Aysha Byers, owner of a lingerie shop in Casper, noted that limited entertainment options make sex a primary pastime. Justice Collins, manager of an adult shop in Cheyenne, agreed that residents have few other activities to choose from.
The survey found New Mexico women reported the highest frequency of sex at 2.06 times weekly. Colorado women averaged the lowest at 0.42 times weekly. Wyoming ranked in the middle at 1.34 times weekly.
Duration of sexual encounters varied significantly by location. New Mexico women reported an average of seven minutes per experience. Alaska women averaged just one minute and 21 seconds. Wyoming women expressed surprise at their top ranking.

Sadie Martinez, a front desk clerk in Casper, dismissed the survey findings as irrelevant to her personal life given her twenty-three years of marriage. She noted that she likely lacks the experience required to understand such topics, joking that she is probably the least experienced woman in the state.
Other residents treated Wyoming's top ranking as expected news. Jazzy Raqs, a bartender in Cheyenne, stated that the area is already known as a hub for women. She claims to turn men away frequently, citing a male-to-female customer ratio of at least five to one at her establishment.
Raqs attributes this imbalance to a workforce influx of men in oil fields, pipeline construction, wind turbine installation, and data center development. She suggests that single women in Wyoming enjoy abundant dating options because the male-heavy labor market ensures quick matches.
According to Raqs, any woman who maintains basic self-care can attract partners easily. She hopes the survey results will encourage more women to move to the state, noting that the local bars could benefit from increased female energy.

DT's Bar sits directly next to Adam & Eve, the only adult store in a town featuring a single movie theater, bowling alley, and axe-throwing venue. Manager Collins describes the surrounding community as having many churches alongside these entertainment options.
Collins reports that her female customers range from late teens to well past retirement, including an eighty-three-year-old regular who prefers crotchless panties. However, the majority of her clientele consists of men purchasing toys for their partners or supplements to enhance performance.
She observes that men focus primarily on satisfying their women rather than buying for themselves. This trend often leads customers to avoid purchasing larger dildos, as men do not want to feel inadequate compared to their anatomy.
The survey placed Wyoming first for women's overall sexual satisfaction while Mississippi finished last. Kyleen Stevenson-Braxton, a boutique owner in Casper, initially struggled to accept the results and questioned why anyone would ask such questions.
Stevenson-Braxton attributes the high ranking to the local cowboy culture, which fosters gentlemanly and respectful behavior toward women. She believes this respect generates greater desire and satisfaction among the female population.

She also points to the state's laid-back lifestyle and lower stress levels as contributing factors. Residents enjoy less rushing and lower crime rates, creating a safe environment where people feel comfortable leaving their cars running outside businesses.
Jen Beevers, owner of Forever Femme in Casper, warns outsiders against stereotyping the state based on its political identity. She emphasizes that being a Republican red state does not imply a lack of sexual activity among the residents.
Lisa Finn, a sex educator at Babeland, supports the idea that lower stress leads to better intimacy. She suggests that high-paced urban life often hinders sexual satisfaction. Perhaps American women should learn from Wyoming by avoiding intense metropolitan stress. This environment might allow arousal and release to function more naturally.
Sara Vinduska, a romance novelist and event organizer in Cody, sees a different connection. She believes the state's vast wilderness fosters romantic ideas and good sex. The landscape is beautiful yet wild, and local women are strong and direct. Additionally, residents are often more conservative and less influenced by social media. This leads to realistic expectations about romance and relationships.

Local residents offered various explanations for the state's top ranking. Some pointed to cowboy charm, while others mentioned simple boredom or low-stress lifestyles. Tam DeRudder Jackson, another Cody-based writer, noted a specific local trend. She observed that many straight men read romance novels like sex manuals. More men than expected are paying close attention to female desires. This attention might explain the positive survey results.
Darla, a housewife at Guernsey State Park, initially called the reporter's questions inappropriate. She felt the topic was private between her and her husband. While setting up a tent, her husband joined the conversation. He explained that their women are satisfied because their men know how to please them. He stated this duty was called by God.
A high school history teacher in Sheridan requested anonymity for her comments. She suggested that female sexual satisfaction is high because many women have relationships with other women. She noted this topic is sensitive for school officials. As a history buff, she also linked the ranking to Wyoming's legacy. The state was the first to grant women the right to vote. Known as the Equality State, Wyoming has a strong record on suffrage.
Nia Washington, a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe, shared her perspective. She emphasized that economic hardship and housing insecurity are more pressing concerns. For her, women thrive on being treated as equals in all aspects of life. This equality matters whether it happens in the voting booth or the bedroom.

Equality, true equality, gets us off," Nia Washington stated.
Nia Washington, 31, belongs to the Northern Arapaho Tribe. This group has historically valued women and their specific roles in tribal life. However, the tribe currently faces high poverty levels in Wyoming.
Washington spent most of her life homeless on the streets of Casper. She said she focuses less on sexual needs than on finding housing and food. "That's the kind of fulfillment I'm mostly looking for," she explained.
Brooklyn Beevers, a high school senior in Casper, noted she had received barely any formal sex education at school. She blames this lack of instruction for an insistence among many local young men not to wear condoms.
If Wyoming women are reporting high sexual satisfaction, Beevers mused it might be because there is little else to do. She suggested they are using their bodies for enjoyment instead.

Her mother, Jen Beevers, owns and runs a women's boutique called Forever Femme. Jen said she raised her only daughter to embrace a femininity that is both strong and soft. "I totally believe that leaning into your softer side is a source of satisfaction," Jen told us.
Jen also warned outsiders against stereotyping Wyoming. She argued that being a Republican red state does not mean residents are not having sex.
Karen Bard of Laramie is a 66-year-old petroleum engineer. She serves as president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs in Wyoming. Although happily married, she believes her state has more eligible, attractive men than any other place she has lived.
Bard said these men know how to balance manliness with chivalry and respect for women. "There are good men all over the place in Wyoming," she said. She added that if women are not having a good sex life here, it is their own damn fault.
