Woman Claims Childhood Vanishing Was a Visit to Jesus in Space

At age five, Akiane Kramarik vanished from her Missouri home for roughly seven hours. Her parents, neighbors, and local police combed the neighborhood in a frantic search, but the girl never stepped outside her door. Instead, she claimed the world around her began to "pixelate" before she was transported to another realm.

Kramarik, now 32, told the Daily Mail that this event followed a pattern of vivid dreams starting at age three. During that lost afternoon, she believes she left Earth entirely. She described traveling through space, viewing planets and nebulae bathed in starlight. She called this area "God's workshop." Then, she stood beside Jesus.

The eyes stuck with her.

"I knew the moment when I saw his eyes that it encompassed this feeling that had to be passed on. This was Jesus' eyes," Kramarik claimed. After seven hours, the vision snapped shut. She reappeared in her home, walking toward her crying mother while officers still searched the streets. She even claimed to have looked down from heaven at her parents as they hunted for her.

The family background makes the story sharper. Kramarik’s mother was an atheist; her father was agnostic. No one in the house discussed God or spirituality. Yet, Kramarik felt a powerful presence of pure light and love from a very young age.

"I think that even before this experience, there were snapshots of details of this particular presence, and no matter where I was, that presence was always felt," she said.

By age eight, living in Idaho, she felt a strong calling to paint what she had seen. The problem was finding a face that matched her visions. Kramarik and her mother spent months searching for a model. They eventually stopped looking and started praying for God to send the right person.

The next day, a stranger knocked on their door. He was a carpenter, nearly seven feet tall. He said he had heard the family needed a model. His features matched the figure in her visions so strikingly that Kramarik could finally paint the portrait she titled *Prince of Peace*.

The painting depicts Jesus with green eyes, a trimmed beard, and shorter, wavy hair. For years, Kramarik only had partial glimpses of his face: eyes, hair, nose. The hours she was missing allowed her to catch a better view, though it remained unclear. It wasn’t until those early visions solidified around age seven or eight that the image became clear enough to render on canvas.

To this day, no one has fully explained the disappearance. Her parents still recall those seven hours as some of the worst days of their lives.

Kramarik paints his eyes as arresting, claiming that standing near him felt less like an interaction and more like pure love wrapped in total comprehension. Back in 2002, she was just eight when she first put brush to canvas for the portrait she calls "Prince of Peace." The story behind that work traces back to a terrifying gap in her timeline. After disappearing in 1999, Kramarik said she snapped back into reality in the exact spot where her memory had left off. She walked through her own home toward her mother. Her mom was sobbing, deep in conversation with a police officer. When she spotted Kramarik, disbelief washed over her face before she sprinted forward to crash into a tight embrace.

Kramarik felt drained. She didn't grasp why the household was in such an uproar. To her, everything seemed fine. She had been missing for seven hours, yet the other realm felt like it stretched across hundreds of years. The confusion deepened when she filled her parents in on the journey. She dropped specific details about seeing them during their frantic search. That stunned the adults. They started digging into what had actually transpired.

"I told my dad, 'I saw you going under this tunnel in this sewer system, and I saw you crying with our dog,'" Kramarik recalled. "Our dog was with him, and he was crying, absolutely bawling, and he was yelling out to God in that moment, and I saw him."

Her father nearly froze. He asked how she knew that location. No one else knew about it. She admits she still has questions. She is still trying to make sense of it all.

Those questions pushed the family toward exploring the existence of God. Kramarik says the event shifted their whole trajectory, moving them toward faith without locking them into a single religion. Her masterpiece "Creation," painted at age 10, depicts what she describes as a vision of God's workshop. She believes she was lifted to heaven, watching her family tear the place apart in their search for her.

Two years after that spiritual shock, the family had relocated to Idaho. They spent months hunting for a model to give life to the image of Jesus. Kramarik prayed for the right person. Someone with the specific features and build required to finish the portrait.

"The next day, I heard a knock on the door, and it was this stranger," Kramarik said. "[He] was almost seven feet tall and said, 'I am here. I heard someone from the family is looking for a model.'"

The model, a carpenter who insists on anonymity, didn't match her heavenly visions perfectly. He had a similar face shape and shoulders. That was the missing piece. It allowed her to bring the vision to life.

Kramarik insists her childhood visions were not the only time she claimed to see God, Jesus, and the kingdom of Heaven. In 2017, she experienced one of her most powerful encounters while updating the "Prince of Peace" painting. As she redrew the original outline of Jesus' face, she claims his face suddenly materialized before her in stunning detail. It looked exactly as she had painted it fifteen years earlier.

"It was one of the most hyper-realistic experiences, presences I've ever felt," she said.

"I almost had this interactive, four-dimensional view of his presence, his face, and how he looks, every little detail, from the neck all the way to the ear, and to the shoulder, and especially around his eyes, and I dropped my pen, and I was in absolute shock, because I felt I was never gonna paint this again?

Like, why now?" The question hangs heavy in the air of Kramarik's artistic process. She reports that vivid dreams and visions continue to flood her mind, offering fresh perspectives on divine intent for both herself and the broader human trajectory. These spiritual encounters are not just fleeting moments; they are the engine driving her canvas work.

Take her 2017 piece, *Jesus*. It serves as an updated iteration of the *Prince of Peace* she painted after receiving a specific new vision of Christ’s face. But the inspiration runs deeper than recent works. Kramarik credits her visions with sparking the creation of her masterpiece, *Creation*, when she was just 10 years old.

"It has been one of the leading points of what I truly was witnessing," the artist explained. To her, the experience felt like watching the very birth and timeline of the universe unfold. She tried to capture that sensation, describing it almost as peering into God's workshop.

Not all the imagery is peaceful. Kramarik admits her visions include darker scenes she labels "black hearts and black worlds." In these depictions, Earth is smothered in darkness. Some Christians read this as a portrayal of the Tribulation, that chaotic era where evil dominates before Jesus’s second coming.

Yet, the balance tilts toward hope in her more recent encounters. She claims to have seen uplifting glimpses of the spiritual realm, including God’s hand and the specific hues of heaven. Her goal is to translate these hidden colors into visible art. She describes heaven as possessing a vibrancy and range of color far exceeding anything found on Earth. Currently, she is experimenting with techniques to capture shades that sit beyond the normal rainbow, colors human eyes typically cannot detect.

Kramarik insists that the messages accompanying these visions have made one thing clear: images of certain future events remain sealed until the timing is right. She sees her role not just as a painter, but as a connector.

"I have realized that my mission, my hope, is to be the bridge between heaven and Earth, and between the invisible and the visible," Kramarik said.
