Walmart Recalls Great Value Fruit Cocktail From Seven States Over Lead Concerns
Pacific Coast Producers pulled 1,836 cases of Great Value Fruit Cocktail from shelves across seven states. That amounts to 44,064 individual 15-ounce cans. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified the risk: elevated levels of lead. Shoppers in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wyoming should check their pantries immediately.

The agency flagged the product for "elevated levels of lead" contamination. Pacific Coast Producers started the recall on Oct. 1. By Oct. 20, the FDA had classified it as a Class II event. This designation means exposure might cause temporary or medically reversible health issues. Serious consequences remain remote, but the threat is real.

Look for UPC 078742369570 on the label. The lot code reads "6FCB 04 C2263". The "Best If Used By" date is Sept. 1, 2027. These specific markers help consumers identify the dangerous inventory quickly.

Walmart faces other regulatory headaches too. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently ordered a recall of nearly 4.5 million Expert Grill brushes. Wire bristles can snap off during cleaning. They then lodge in grills or food. A separate issue, but it highlights a pattern of safety concerns for the retailer.

A Walmart spokesperson did not immediately return calls from FOX Business for comment. The company remains silent on the fruit cocktail matter. Meanwhile, the FDA continues to monitor the situation. Regulatory directives like these directly impact public health. They force retailers to act fast. They protect consumers from hidden dangers.
