Virginia Man Turns Himself In After Killing Wife At Home

A suburban nightmare unfolded on Sunday night in Fair Oaks, Virginia, where a 64-year-old father allegedly killed his wife at their $1 million home before turning himself into custody. Leland Jameson faces second-degree murder charges following a distressing sequence of events that began with frantic calls to emergency services.

The initial 911 contact occurred just after 10:21 PM. Dispatchers heard sounds consistent with a violent disturbance inside the residence on a quiet cul-de-sac before the line went dead. A second call followed twenty-eight minutes later at 10:39 PM, though authorities have not released details regarding the caller's identity or the specific words spoken during that emergency interaction.

When officers arrived at the Fairfax County property, they found Chisen Azuma Jameson, 60, lying on the floor with fatal gunshot wounds to her upper body. Police Deputy Chief Brendan Hooke confirmed quickly that Leland Jameson had shot his spouse and was taken into immediate custody without further delay.

The victim, Chisen Azuma Jameson, hailed from Osaka, Japan, before relocating to the United States several decades ago. She previously worked for All Nippon Airways, representing the carrier at the Aviation Users Forum last November. Her husband had served as a program director of computational and applied mathematics at the National Science Foundation for over twenty years, reviewing hundreds of federal grant applications.

The couple's older son, Leland Jr., 30, played soccer professionally in Japan with Osaka FC and in the Netherlands with HCSC Den Helder voetbalclub. He later coached McLean High School to a state championship game appearance in 2024, which ended in a triple-overtime loss. Following that season, he moved to Lackawanna College before becoming head coach at Academy of Central Florida in Orlando last July.

Leland Jameson has been denied bail on charges including second-degree murder and the use of a firearm during a felony. He is currently held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center awaiting his court appearance this week.
