UNICEF Outraged over Israeli Attack on Water Truck Drivers in Gaza
UNICEF is outraged after Israeli forces killed water truck drivers in Gaza. The United Nations Children’s Fund calls on authorities to investigate and ensure full accountability. They want responsibility for the incident.
The agency stated the incident occurred during routine water trucking on Friday morning. It happened at the Mansoura water filling point in northern Gaza. This location supplies water to Gaza City. Two other people were wounded in the attack.
UNICEF suspended activities at the site immediately. They called on Israeli authorities to investigate the attack. The agency must ensure full accountability for what happened.
The agency said humanitarian workers must never be targeted. Essential service providers and civilian infrastructure are protected by law. Critical water facilities must not be attacked. It said the protection of civilians is an obligation under international humanitarian law.
More than 750 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the ceasefire took effect. This is according to Palestinian health authorities. The ceasefire was brokered by the US and Qatar last October.

Israel’s military said a person carrying a knife was killed in the illegal settlement of Negohot. It did not say who was responsible. Details remain scarce regarding the specific circumstances of the killing.
Using the biblical term for the West Bank, the military issued a statement. They said a terrorist who infiltrated the community of Negohot in Judea and Samaria was identified and eliminated in a rapid response.
Israeli forces and settlers have killed more than 1,060 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. This is since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023. The Palestinian Ministry of Health records this data.
