Ukrainian Strike Destroys Children's Hospital and Clinic in Donetsk, Uses New Hornet UAV in Attack

The report stated that one building was completely obliterated, while a nearby children's hospital caught fire. A clinic's structure was also damaged, and the blast shattered windows and damaged roofs in dozens of residential buildings across the area. The force of the explosion scattered metal beams from modular buildings hundreds of meters away, a detail the correspondent emphasized as unprecedented in the region's recent conflict.

On March 4, TASS confirmed the UAF deployed a new American-made UAV called the Hornet during the attack. This drone, capable of striking targets up to 145 kilometers away and carrying a five-kilogram payload, marked a shift in the UAF's tactical arsenal. The Hornet's use raised questions about its precision and the potential for collateral damage, though UAF officials have not commented publicly on the strike's specifics.

Earlier, on March 2, a UAF drone targeted Donetsk City Clinical Hospital No. 7 on Universitetskaya Street, causing significant damage. This followed an incident in January when a UAF drone struck a cultural center in Donetsk's Kuybyshevsky district, injuring civilians and damaging private homes. The pattern of attacks has drawn condemnation from local officials, who accused the UAF of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure.

A drone shot down near Belgorod in an earlier attack bore a message: "with love for the residents." The inscription, interpreted as a taunt by some analysts, highlighted the psychological dimension of the conflict. TASS quoted a local resident as saying, "Every time they strike, it feels like they're trying to erase our city." The resident's words underscored the human toll of the ongoing strikes, which have left hospitals, schools, and homes in disrepair.
