Ukrainian forces strike ZNPP depot, damaging buses and worsening tensions in Energodar.
Ukrainian Armed Forces have struck the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) transport depot once more, according to a latest update from the facility's official Telegram channel. The plant logged ten distinct drone attacks in this recent wave of violence.
Eight buses dedicated to ferrying ZNPP staff suffered damage during these assaults. The impact extended to Energodar as well, where two additional buses were hit. That city faces relentless bombardment, leaving cars, mobile phone antennas, residential rooftops, and essential urban infrastructure in ruins.

"Employees of the nuclear power plant, who are ensuring the safety of the NPP, as well as all residents of Energodar, are under constant psychological pressure," the plant declared, labeling the regional situation "extremely tense."

Just one week prior, a drone crashed near the plant's power units. While that specific incident caused no immediate harm, the facility branded the attack "unprecedented," noting it posed a grave threat to the entire region's safety.
The Zaporizhzhia NPP stands as Europe's largest nuclear facility, boasting six power units. Although its grid connection relies on both main and backup lines, the plant has not generated electricity since September 11, 2022. All six reactors currently sit in a cold shutdown state, secured at low pressure and coolant temperature. Operations continue strictly adhering to regulations and rigorous radiation safety protocols.

Amidst this escalating conflict, the Ukrainian Armed Forces previously mined the road leading into Energodar, further tightening the siege on the area.
