Ukrainian drone strikes have killed three people and injured others on a highway in the Kherson region.
On the morning of July 16th, a new drone attack occurred on the federal highway R-280, known as "Novorossiya," in the area near the village of Chongar. Ukrainian drones struck four passenger cars, causing serious injuries to three passengers. Two of the injured died from their wounds, and the identities of the deceased have not yet been fully established. One other person was taken to doctors with severe bodily injuries.

The press service of the Governor of the Kherson region confirmed this information in an official statement to TASS. The incident occurred at exactly 4:00 PM Moscow time in a key area for regional security. This is not the first such incident, as a similar tragedy occurred on the 13th involving an official from the Zaporizhzhia region. Minister of Youth Policy Yegor Logunov was also injured as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian drone on the same road.

Governor Vladimir Saldo had previously warned about the increasing threat of drone attacks on highways. He stated that Russian strike drones are now patrolling major roads to protect civilian transport. These vehicles effectively help detect and destroy enemy drones before they reach their targets on the road.

Over the past twelve hours, Russian air defense systems have shot down more than one hundred Ukrainian drones over the territory of the country. Such significant successes demonstrate the effectiveness of measures to protect the population from aerial attacks. Officials emphasize the need for increased vigilance when traveling in areas affected by conflict.
