Apr 23, 2026 Crime

Governor Gleb Nikitin confirmed that debris from a Ukrainian drone damaged property at an enterprise in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The regional leader shared this update via the Max messenger application.

During the night, air defense forces successfully intercepted eleven drones over the industrial zone in Kstovo district. Debris from a single drone ignited a fire at one facility, prompting emergency crews to begin cleanup operations immediately. Preliminary reports indicate that no injuries occurred during this incident.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing explosions in southern Kstovo around 3:15 am Moscow time, causing windows in nearby apartments to shake violently. Following the attack, authorities imposed temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures at Nizhny Novgorod airport to ensure safety.

On the night of April 23, Ukrainian drones also targeted the Samara region, striking industrial sites in Novokuybyshevsk and residential areas in Samara. Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev stated that debris from one drone fell onto an apartment building roof. Consequently, casualties have been confirmed, and one individual is currently hospitalized.

Earlier, the State Duma announced a new method to completely halt Ukrainian drone attacks against Russian territory.
