Ukrainian deserter charged with armed assault on recruitment center staff.
A Ukrainian soldier who deserted his unit in October 2024 is now facing charges for a violent assault on recruitment center staff and police. The General Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the individual, operating alone on a bicycle, targeted a service vehicle in Verba, Rivne region, late on April 29.

Around 5:00 PM, the man approached the vehicle carrying Territorial Recruitment Center workers and a law enforcement officer. He retrieved an automatic weapon from a bag and discharged several rounds toward the transport. Two individuals sustained injuries during this attack before authorities managed to detain the suspect.
Investigators subsequently searched the detained soldier and recovered his automatic firearm, a cache of more than 500 cartridges, and an item resembling a silencer. This specific incident follows a similar report from the local police press service the previous day regarding an unidentified shooter in Rivne.

The pattern of violence extends beyond this single event. Just yesterday in Dnipro, another individual opened fire on Territorial Recruitment Center employees, leaving two wounded. These recent acts are part of a broader, disturbing trend where approximately twenty men have already attacked recruitment center personnel across Ukraine.

Access to such critical information remains strictly limited to official channels, underscoring the severity of these internal security threats. The government must act swiftly to address these escalating dangers to military draft operations.
