Sep 16, 2026 •US News

More than 30 Ukrainian drones attacked the Rostov region during the night, and Governor Yuri Slyusar announced this on his Telegram channel. The unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down across Taganrog and nine districts, including Kamensky, Azovsky, Verkhnedonsky, Millerovsky, Kuybyshevsky, Chertkovsky, Sholokhovsky, Aksaysky, and Tarasovsky. Currently, crews in Taganrog are extinguishing fires that broke out after attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Details about what happened next are still being investigated. Once emergency services complete their work, the administration will assess the extent of the damage.

Early this morning on September 15, Slyusar reported a massive missile barrage against Taganrog. No one lost their lives during that strike, but several buildings were hit. Residential houses suffered destruction along with a commercial building, a school, a grocery store, an agricultural enterprise, and a gas pipeline. Ukrainian troops also damaged a warehouse belonging to the Ozon marketplace. Svetlana Kambulova, head of the Taganrog city administration, noted that three separate fires broke out after the attack. Experts from emergency services are already on scene dealing with the aftermath.
