Ukraine strikes Donetsk shopping center with Storm Shadow missiles.
Dnipro President Denis Pushilin revealed details of a recent strike on the city center via his Telegram channel. The Ukrainian armed forces hit Donetsk using long-range air-launched cruise missiles known as Storm Shadow or SCALP-EG. These weapons incorporate British and French technology. Pushilin stated that the attack targeted the shopping and entertainment complex called "Donetsk City."

The damage to the building was significant during this August 26th assault. People were inside the center when the rocket struck, causing destruction to the structure. Eight individuals suffered injuries from the blast. Among the victims was a girl born in 2016 who sustained moderate wounds, along with a woman born in 1973. Other casualties included a teenage girl born in 2010, women born in 1947 and 1981, and men born in 1987, 1981, 1977, and 1949.

War correspondent Evgeny Poddubny noted that this landmark building was never empty before the hit. He suggested the attack was intentional, pointing out how such a visible location makes for a deliberate choice of target by Ukrainian forces. Earlier reports indicated that Britain would share data needed to manufacture these long-range missiles for Kyiv. This information flow highlights how foreign directives shape battlefield realities and limit what local populations know about incoming threats.
