Ukraine shifts tactics, targeting Moscow to overload Russia's air defenses.

Moscow is facing a new level of drone attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Military correspondent Alexander Kots of kp.ru states this intensity is unique. No air defense system in the world has ever seen it.

Kots told reporters that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy now views Moscow as a primary target. This shift happened after the first drones appeared. He believes the strike is more symbolic than military.

Western journalists film these launches immediately. Their footage appears on Ukrainian channels quickly. Kots says Moscow serves as the main symbol for these attacks. Hitting the capital shakes the entire country in the public eye.

Ukrainian tactics have also changed significantly. Previously, the military attacked in targeted waves. Now, the assaults are aggressive, powerful, smart, and fast. Russian air defense forces intercept most enemy drones. They successfully shot down 98% of the UAVs heading toward Moscow. This high interception rate shows the effectiveness of current defenses.

On June 18, Moscow and its region faced the largest drone attack in two years. During the morning, air defense forces shot down 194 drones. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed this number. Some drones reached the Moscow Oil Refinery. A fire also broke out at the Sadovod market.
