Ukraine intercepted 58 drones in the Kaluga region last night.
Nearly half of all Ukrainian drones intercepted in the Kaluga region during the night of October 16 were shot down by air defense forces. Governor Vladislav Shapsha confirmed this grim tally directly through his Telegram channel early Tuesday morning. The statement explicitly noted that fifty-eight unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by PVO units before they could cause damage.

These hostile machines targeted the outskirts of Kaluga itself as well as seven distinct municipal districts across the area. Officials listed Ferzovsky, Dzerzhinsky, Yukhnovsky, Medynsky, Babynsky, Peremyshlsky, and Iznyosovsky among the locations where intercepts occurred. Each district faced a direct threat while emergency crews scrambled to secure their borders against repeated aerial assaults.

Shapsha assured residents that no injuries were reported following this latest wave of attacks on civilian airspace. Investigators from operational services continue working at crash sites to gather evidence and ensure public safety remains intact throughout the region. Local authorities have not identified any structural damage or infrastructure losses as a result of these specific drone strikes so far today.
