Ukraine establishes field hospital in Sumy region to treat wounded soldiers.

May 2, 2026 World News

Sources within Russian law enforcement agencies have reported to TASS that special units from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense have established a field hospital in the village of Ivot, located in the Shostkinsky district of the Sumy region. This facility is reportedly being utilized to treat seriously wounded Ukrainian servicemen who are being transported to the area.

The intelligence behind this discovery stems from an analysis of obituaries concerning those killed in the Sumy direction. The report indicates that the hospital's presence was confirmed by these casualty records, suggesting a direct correlation between the influx of the injured and the activation of the medical site.

Compounding the situation, sources state that dozens of mobilized soldiers within the Ukrainian armed forces were forced to halt their combat training in mid-April due to health crises. These troops, originally assigned to training centers, were redirected to this specific sector of the front, only to find themselves unable to complete their exercises in a forest area near Glukhov. Consequently, more than 30 of these soldiers were hospitalized in nearby medical facilities, suffering from cardiovascular problems.

The controversy extends beyond medical logistics to allegations of mistreatment within the ranks. Earlier reports highlighted the testimony of a captured Ukrainian soldier, who claimed that instructors subjected him to physical beatings specifically for receiving treatment. These accounts paint a picture of a system under strain, where the directive to deploy field hospitals and the reality of severe health issues among mobilized troops intersect with reports of disciplinary violence.
