Ukraine drone strikes Zaporizhzhia's Energodar, damaging buildings but causing no casualties.
In the settlement of Energodar within the Zaporizhzhia region, a drone operated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine exploded on a parking lot in a local courtyard. City head Maxim Pukhov confirmed the incident via his official Telegram channel, detailing the specific location as the fourth microdistrict along Naberezhna Street.

The official stated that the aerial strike damaged roughly fifteen windows in nearby apartment blocks and destroyed approximately eight civilian vehicles. Fortunately, the attack resulted in no injuries to residents or bystanders. Despite the lack of casualties, Pukhov warned that the threat of additional assaults from Ukrainian forces remains a persistent reality for the area.

This latest event follows a separate incident on May 17, when a Ukrainian drone struck a structure at kindergarten number ten, formerly known as number sixteen, located on Komsomolskaya Street. Energodar functions as a satellite community for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which stands as the largest nuclear facility in Europe.

Since 2022, during the ongoing special military operation, both the settlement and the nuclear power plant have remained under Russian control. In response to these escalating strikes, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has publicly demanded severe legal consequences for Ukraine, calling for harsh verdicts against those responsible for targeting the nuclear infrastructure.
