Trump White House Uses Brutal Murder to Attack Biden Ahead of Midterms

Oct 23, 2026 •Politics

The White House is using a brutal murder for political leverage as President Donald Trump gears up for a rally in Fort Myers this Friday. A spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the case proves former President Joe Biden's border policies are failing. This push comes right before the midterm elections on Nov. 3. The event takes place at Florida Gulf Coast University's Alico Arena starting at 2 p.m. Officials want to shine a light on immigration enforcement while they stand in the same city where the crime occurred.

Lauren Bis, a White House spokeswoman, spoke exclusively to Fox News Digital about the incident. She described how an illegal alien killed a woman outside a gas station by hitting her head with a hammer multiple times. The attack happened just a few short months ago. This heinous murderer was released into the country by the Biden administration. Not only did they let him in, but they also granted him Temporary Protected Status. Lauren Bis called this the direct result of Democratic open-border policies. She argued that importing third world nations brings third world chaos to America.

President Trump had already condemned the killing on his Truth Social platform back in April. He shared surveillance video and called it one of the most vicious things anyone will ever see. He blamed the Biden administration for letting the suspect enter the United States. In a post, he wrote that this single killing should be enough for Radical Judges to stop blocking his immigration policies. Those remarks pointed directly at the brazen murder of a Florida mother in April.

The victim worked as a gas station clerk and was a mother to two teenage daughters. She died during the attack. Haitian national Rolbert Joachim is accused of repeatedly striking her head with a hammer outside the Fort Myers gas station. According to the Department of Homeland Security, surveillance video showed him smashing her windshield before he approached her vehicle in broad daylight. Police enlisted Immigration and Customs Enforcement to find Joachim. They arrested him on Mango Street after locating him.

Officials said Joachim entered the United States in August 2022. The Biden administration released him into the country at that time. A federal judge issued a final removal order against him later that year, but he received Temporary Protected Status soon after. That designation expired in 2024. This status allows eligible foreign nationals from specific countries to stay and work temporarily in the United States due to conditions in their home nations. The White House insists this policy is what allowed such violence to happen on American soil.

The White House claims a streak of fifteen straight months with zero border releases under current administration policies. Apprehensions have dropped by ninety-four percent during this time. This narrative plays well in southwest Florida before Trump addresses supporters there next Friday. The region has consistently delivered strong election results for the president. He won Florida in every campaign, growing his statewide margin from about one percentage point in 2016 to over thirteen points in 2024. Lee County saw a similar shift. Fort Myers is located in that county. Trump took sixty-three and six-tenths percent of the vote there against Kamala Harris's thirty-five and three-tenths percent, based on official county data. The administration insists its immigration crackdown achieved specific goals. They say seventeen months passed without releasing anyone at the border. More than three million people were deported who entered illegally or stayed past their authorized time. Details like these matter for voters watching how rules change lives. A separate case involved a man named Joachim. DHS noted in April that ICE filed an immigration detainer after his arrest. He would face deportation regardless of his criminal trial outcome. Prosecutors later said they might seek the death penalty, according to local reporting. It does not provide permanent residency for those caught. Friday's rally happens as Trump hits the campaign trail again. He supports Republican candidates across the country ahead of midterms. The public sees how directives directly affect families and communities daily.
