Trump Plans Joint Base Golf Overhaul and Presidents Cup Honorary Role
President Donald Trump plans to fix up Joint Base Andrews golf courses after calling the current ones really bad with forty-year-old grass. He wants legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus to design new world championship layouts that will help military facilities and benefit young people and disabled individuals. The project aims to upgrade these grounds significantly for everyone involved.

Next month Trump returns to a familiar role when the 2026 Presidents Cup tees off in September. The PGA Tour announced Saturday that he was named honorary chairman for this big tournament happening at Medinah Country Club near Chicago from Sept. 22-27. This event is scheduled right after his previous stint leading the 2017 team in New Jersey where he helped present the trophy after a clear victory.

PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp noted that world leaders have always been part of this competition regardless of politics. He said President Trumps involvement continues that proud tradition by bringing people together through golf. His participation will elevate the event globally and further their mission of unity on the green.

The upcoming tournament features a twelve-man U.S. Team going head-to-head against an International Team with equal numbers. Brandt Snedeker will captain the Americans while Australian Geoff Ogilvy leads the opposing side in what promises to be another intense matchup for fans everywhere.

Trump accepted this honor via Truth Social where he wrote that it is his great pleasure to serve as honorary chairman at Medinah Country Club in Chicago. He described the event as particularly exciting because both teams are loaded with talent and expressed looking forward to greeting all these fantastic athletes on site. This marks him joining a prestigious list of seven U.S. presidents who have held this specific title before him.
