Trump: Iran Conflict 'Close to Over' as U.S. Blockade Continues

The war with Iran may be nearing an end. Speaking to Fox News, President Donald Trump suggested the conflict is “close to over,” as the possibility of a second round of face-to-face negotiations in Pakistan looms in the coming days.

However, the military reality on the water remains intense. The U.S. military confirmed that its blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has entered its second day. Officials stated that the operation has “completely halted economic trade going into and out of Iran by sea,” effectively cutting off the nation's maritime commerce.
