Trump Delivers Final Rally As Democrats Near Record Senate Odds

Nov 2, 2026 •Politics

The numbers look grim for the GOP. As of Monday morning, prediction platform Kalshi pegs Democrats at a 74 percent chance of seizing the Senate. That is a record high for this cycle. Their odds of capturing the House sit even higher, at 94 percent.

President Trump knows the clock is ticking. Today, he steps to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., to deliver what he calls his "closing arguments." It is a last-ditch bid to rally his base before ballots are cast. Yesterday, he wrapped up a grueling 28-stop nationwide campaign in Salina, Kansas, trying to shore up Republican support and protect the party's congressional majorities.

The stakes are clear. If Democrats take over, Trump says he will lean on the veto. "I hoped that it won't be the case," he warned, but added, "if it is, it’s happened before with many presidents. You have a strong veto and you end up working out deals."

Yet the momentum is shifting in unexpected places. Traders aren't just seeing a blanket Democratic wave. They are watching specific Senate races tighten or loosen as Election Day looms. Republicans currently hold 53 seats in the upper chamber against 47 for Democrats. The outcome will likely hinge on a small cluster of tightly contested states.

Who holds the key? The blue-collar voters who built Trump's coalition.

Take Colton Weaver, a 37-year-old mechanic from Beaumont, Texas. He is the archetype of the man who put Trump in the White House. And yet, on Tuesday, he is voting for a Democrat. He is not an anomaly. Exit polls show Trump captured about two-thirds of white voters without a college degree in each of his three presidential runs.

That working-class alliance, which stuck with him through 2016, 2020, and 2024, may finally be fraying. The Daily Mail traveled to five bellwether counties to hear it straight from the source. In Sedgwick County, Kansas; Jefferson County, Texas; Macomb County, Michigan; Montgomery County, Ohio; and Waldo County, Maine, the mood is palpable. These voters, who once seemed locked in, are now weighing their options with a new sense of urgency.
