Trump Claims Putin Agreed to Supply Millions of Tons of Diesel

Oct 9, 2026 •Politics

Donald Trump announced today that Vladimir Putin has agreed to supply the United States with hundreds of thousands of tons of diesel. This sudden offer could lower pump prices right before Americans head to the polls in November.

'I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia,' Trump wrote on Truth Social. 'It was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the American and global marketplace.'

The president said another 500,000 tons would be released in November. A further million tons followed 'immediately thereafter.' Trump added that based on the condition of their diesel refineries, specifically noting they have been decimated by Ukrainian drone strikes, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, another 3 million tons of diesel.

He claimed this agreement, combined with America's total control of the Strait of Hormuz, would bring down diesel prices worldwide. The picture paints a strange one: a Russian leader offering fuel aid while his refineries face constant attack from the other side of an ocean.
