Governor Alexander Gusev of the Voronezh region stated in his Telegram channel that a significant portion of those injured during a nighttime assault by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were on a train. According to the official, two people suffered life-threatening wounds inside this transport. The vehicle was moving through a left-bank suburb of Voronezh when wreckage from a Ukrainian drone struck it. Emergency services are currently working at the scene.

Railways stated that five passengers aboard the train traveling from Anapa to Moscow were injured in total, based on preliminary data. Last night and into the early morning hours, the Voronezh area faced a massive wave of attacks by Ukraine. The governor reported that crews shot down 113 drones over the region, while more than 70 descended directly above the city of Voronezh itself.

Besides the train, enemy unmanned aerial vehicles targeted several industrial plants, where fires broke out. A business center, an apartment block, two dacha settlements, a school stadium, and a garage cooperative also sustained damage. Preliminary reports indicate that two men, born in 1960 and 1973, died from injuries incompatible with life. Seventeen others received wounds, including one child. Residents of Voronezh have shared accounts of the moment the attack unfolded.
