A 36-year-old newlywed from Georgia is fighting for his life after a catastrophic tractor accident just three weeks into his marriage. Hilton Lane, owner of Bud's Blue Collar Grill near the Alabama border, was crushed by a tractor on March 29, leaving him in critical condition. The incident occurred less than a month after he married Kelsie, whom he called the "love of his life" in a March 3 online fundraiser. The couple's union was short-lived, overshadowed by the trauma of the accident.

Emergency responders were called after Lane managed to call his wife for help while trapped under the tractor. He was rushed to a hospital in Dothan, Alabama, and remains in intensive care. His family has been by his side, while his restaurant closed its doors on March 30 for friends, customers, and community members to gather in prayer. "He suffered numerous injuries and is currently in the critical care unit," the fundraiser stated, highlighting the severity of his condition.

The tragedy has sparked an outpouring of support from locals and beyond. As of Monday afternoon, the fundraiser had raised over $32,400, according to organizers. Family members described Lane as "incredibly selfless," a man who "constantly puts others before himself." His cousin, Joshua Suggs, told WOWT that the community's response was "nothing short of amazing," with people dropping their daily routines to support Lane. "Everybody dropped what they were doing in the middle of the day to come do something that they believed in, which was Hilton," Suggs said.

Lane's wife, Kelsie, has remained by his side since the accident, a fact that has resonated deeply with his family. Donna Williams Lane, his mother, wrote on Facebook: "Less than a month ago, she became my daughter-in-law. None of us could have imagined how quickly 'for better or worse' would be tested."
