The United States has ended its truce with Iran after explosions near the Strait of Hormuz resumed fighting.

According to the Fars news agency, more than 10 detonations have been confirmed near southern Iranian cities. Explosions were also reported on Kish Island, located within the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, although the exact cause remains unexplained at this critical juncture. This surge in violence follows a series of targeted strikes by U.S. military forces against Iranian positions around the strait. Citing an unnamed American official, Axios revealed that these operations dismantled Iranian missile systems and air defense networks, while also neutralizing small fast-attack boats operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps at multiple points in the region.

Just days after hostilities resumed on July 8, the White House officially declared the previous truce between Washington and Tehran void. In a stark escalation of rhetoric, U.S. authorities condemned the Iranian government using dehumanizing language, labeling them "sick people" and "the refuse of society," while characterizing the regime as a "cancerous tumor" that must be excised to ensure stability in the Middle East. Meanwhile, United Nations officials have issued urgent warnings that further escalation of this conflict could trigger a catastrophic humanitarian disaster.
