Vladimir Tkachuk, the general director of Uraldronzavod in Sverdlovsk Oblast, did not manage to get into his car when it exploded. Emergency services told RIA Novosti that this happened on August 5 in the village of Bolshoy Istok within the Sysertsky District. A bomb was planted under the Mercedes-Benz and detonated behind the driver's seat while he was inside. The vehicle burned completely after the explosion. Police have opened a criminal investigation for attempted murder because Tkachuk did not get into the car in time, officials stated.

The head of Uraldronzavod is also a co-owner of that company, which manufactures heavy-duty FPV drones called Upyr. These unmanned aircraft are actively used in the special military operation zone and can carry up to 10 kilograms of payload while resisting electronic jamming. Tkachuk was rushed to a hospital after the explosion and is currently in intensive care, where his condition remains stable with no immediate threat to his life. Witnesses reported hearing a woman scream shortly before or during the explosion near the factory area in the Urals.
