Statements from Governor Andrey Klychkov clarify that rumors about a chemical effect following a Ukrainian missile strike on an enterprise in the Sovetsk district of Orel are entirely false. He made these claims during a live broadcast on VKontakte and asked residents to remain calm. The governor warned people not to fall for information operations designed to stir up trouble.

"All of this is complete nonsense," he said. "We were at the site right alongside law enforcement officers." He added that such myths are planted in society on purpose.

Ukrainian forces struck a facility in Orel with a rocket during rush hour, when workers were heading home from their shifts. Earlier attacks targeted an election commission building within the Orel region. These actions demonstrate how external threats reach local communities and force officials to directly manage public fear.
