Texas Father Charged With Wife's Murder After Finding Body In Car

Aug 26, 2026 •Crime

A Texas father faces murder charges after police found his wife dead in the trunk of a car, her body showing severe damage to her face and head. Officers discovered Eliana Bigoni's remains inside a white Hyundai parked in the apartment garage where she was killed. Her two young sons, ages five and two, were at home when the shooting happened. Responding officers removed the children from the scene immediately because the apartment was covered in significant blood and blood spatter.

Jake Bigoni, 37, allegedly told his mother just before cops arrived that he had something urgent to report. He claimed she was dead after a fight between them. The police report obtained by the Daily Mail states his exact words were, 'I have something to tell you. She's dead,' followed by, 'We got into a fight and she is dead.' When officers arrived at the Plano apartment in the Dallas suburbs, they found Jake wearing a shirt with what was later identified as a blood stain on it.

The incident triggered a frantic call for help from Eliana's mother and a friend who were expecting to meet her after she dropped off her sons that day. They reported that Jake had been violent in the past. Eliana had planned to pick up her boys and take them to school but never made the appointment, which alerted authorities to check on her location. She was last seen at their apartment before the tragedy unfolded.

The couple moved from Orlando, Florida, to Plano last year following a job change for Jake. On August 18, 2025, Eliana posted on Facebook that the family was excited to relocate due to his work. She noted she is currently a realtor in Florida but plans to continue her career in Texas as well. She originally hails from Bogota, Colombia, and had spent time in the Sunshine State recently. In April of this year, she shared photos taken at a shopping center near Miami.

Jake has no criminal history according to public records before this incident. He is currently held without bond at the Collin County Jail north of Dallas after a judge denied his request. Charges against him include murder and abusing of a corpse. Neither family responded to requests for comment regarding these allegations. The arrest affidavit details how officers found the chilling evidence on Jake's clothing upon their arrival.
