Spencer Pratt files complaint against Mayor Bass over election law violation.

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt has filed a formal complaint against Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. He accuses her of breaking election laws by campaigning too close to a ballot box. Pratt, who is running for mayor as an Independent, made the claim on X on Tuesday.

"Karen Bass just violated election law here," Pratt wrote. He added that she filmed herself breaking the rules without facing consequences. "Well, those days are over," he stated. "We just filed a formal complaint for illegally gaming the election. We must protect our democracy."

Pratt emphasized that electioneering within 100 feet of a ballot box is illegal. He argued that soliciting votes near a voting booth violates the law. "These clear violations show a reckless disregard for the rule of law and our democratic process," he said. He described Bass's actions as part of a "mafia-like regime" that ignores rules for others while following them for herself.

The 42-year-old included a photo of the complaint in his social media post. He told Bass to enjoy her conference calls with her lawyers. Under California state law, candidates cannot campaign within 100 feet of a ballot box. Pratt posted an image of a campaign video that appeared to show Bass encouraging people to vote near a ballot box.

A spokesperson for Mayor Bass responded to the allegations on Fox News Digital. Alex Stack said, "Spencer is just mad that his supporters are AI cartoons and we have real Angelenos. We follow the rules." Stack insisted the complaint is "blatantly false." He explained that the video was filmed at two locations. One spot was over 200 feet away from the ballot box and had signs. The other was next to the ballot box but lacked signs.

In the formal complaint, attorney Peter McNulty called for an investigation into Bass for "illegal electioneering." McNulty told Fox News Digital that similar complaints have been filed with the state. "This sort of activity in such close proximity to voters has the potential to intimidate and improperly influence voters," he wrote. "Which is exactly why these laws and restrictions are in place to begin with."
