Smartwatch Calls 911 After Wilmington Couple Found Dead in Murder-Suicide
New details from a Fox Nation special shine a light on the Brian Walshe case while investigators work another local tragedy. Internet searches by conman Brian Walshe and voicemails left by his mother, Diana, are now central to the story of Ana Walshe's death.

Investigators say Stephen Larnell Willetts and Tracey Parker Willetts died in a murder-suicide inside their North Carolina home. Both were found shot dead on Thursday morning at their residence in Wilmington. The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office stated detectives believe the wife fatally shot her husband before taking her own life based on evidence gathered during the probe.

A smartwatch worn by one of the couple detected a fall and automatically called 911 after the alarm failed to cancel, prompting the emergency response. WWAY reported this detail about how deputies arrived at the scene. The pair had apparently just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Wednesday when they were discovered dead the next day by investigators.

The Facebook profiles of Stephen and Tracey Willetts show a couple who loved paddleboarding. Photos posted online depict them as avid paddleboarders well known in the Wrightsville Beach community. One image even shows Tracey holding a headstand pose on her board while Stephen stood beside her gear.

Stephen Willets was 65 years old when he was found dead, reports say. A neighbor told WECT that Stephen Willetts was retired Army. Fuller Royal, who identified himself as Tracey Willetts' second cousin, posted to social media calling Stephen a lifelong friend and a devoted EMT.

Royal wrote in his post about the couple losing their two sons within a year of each other between 2013 and 2014. He stated he could not begin to imagine how much that hurt or what they went through. Royal prayed for peace and safety for everyone involved, asking God to bless them all.

The investigation remains active and ongoing according to the sheriff's office. Authorities continue to process the scene in Wilmington while families await answers about this devastating loss.
