Skydivers Jump Mid-Air After Witnessing Plane Crash
A team of professional skydivers spotted a plane crash and chose an extraordinary path to the victims by jumping from their own aircraft. These men, all experienced members of Skydive Milwaukee, were preparing for a routine jump when they noticed a small plane near East Troy Municipal Airport on Sunday. Town of East Troy Police Department records confirm this sequence of events according to available reports.

John Bechtel told local outlet WSMV that the aircraft appeared to fly unusually before disappearing behind a line of trees. He recalled how the pilot banked up slightly and then vanished from sight without returning. The group sat in silence waiting for the plane to reappear, but it never did. They just kind of looked at each other like we had just seen a plane crash.

The single-engine plane crashed into a cornfield near the airport. The skydivers quickly asked their pilot to identify a safe place to jump so they could assist the emergency response team. Air traffic control informed the pilot that it was his call regarding whether to drop jumpers over the area. It is your discretion if you want to drop jumpers over the area, air traffic control stated according to WSMV.

Yes, I am going to drop a couple of them and we are going to drop em right now the pilot reportedly replied. The skydivers arrived at the crash site before any other emergency crews could get there. One jumper who worked as a former paramedic treated a person with a serious head injury until professional help arrived. All four people aboard the plane survived according to statements from Bechtel regarding the outcome.

Bechtel explained that the timing could not have been any better for their rescue attempt. Had we left five minutes earlier, we would not have seen it he told WSMV. Had we left fifteen minutes later, we would not have been able to get there first and assist. Bechtel said this marked the first time he ever jumped out of a plane to respond to an emergency situation.

I am just glad that we were able to do what we were able to do and get in and help according to WSMV. He added that helping others in need was something he would absolutely do in a heartbeat. Fox News Digital reached out to Skydive Milwaukee for comment on the incident details. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the cause of the crash as authorities work to determine what happened.
