Singer Sawyer Hill Closes Tour After Fatal Bus Crash

Oct 23, 2026 •Entertainment

Singer Sawyer Hill is canceling his entire tour following a deadly accident involving his tour bus that claimed the life of one crew member. The rocker announced on Oct. 14 that his vehicle went off the road late at night near the Colorado-Wyoming border before flipping over.

"It was a terrifying experience for everyone on board, myself included, and we are devastated to share our driver lost his life," Hill wrote in an Instagram post. He noted that several people from the crew and band were hurt during the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and out of respect for the process and the victim's family, he said they could not release more details right now.

After careful thought, Hill realized there was no viable path left to continue his "Everybody's Home, Nobody's Happy" tour. He stated that the focus for his band and crew must shift to processing the trauma and healing. While the group works on rescheduling dates, refunds are available for anyone who bought tickets.

"I can't wait to get back out there with you all," Hill ended his message. "Thank you for your understanding, compassion, and support during this difficult time." He added in the caption that his heart was broken and offered an apology to everyone involved.

A family member of the driver identified him as David "Rollingcloud" Jackson. She wrote on a fundraising page that he suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel and crossed three lanes of traffic before the bus rolled over. Fortunately, the band members survived. Tragically, David died. His family did not know prior to his death that he had atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease or epilepsy.

Although the exact medical emergency remains unknown, the autopsy showed he had already passed away before the crash occurred. When paramedics arrived at the scene, they pronounced him dead on arrival. There was no warning, no time to prepare, and no chance to say goodbye. Jackson was a huge part of the music industry and loved his world deeply. Through his work, the miles he traveled, and the people he met, David became part of a community that stretched far beyond any single location.

Jackson was a father of four and a grandfather of three. The family is asking for donations to cover the cost of bringing his body home from Wyoming to Minnesota where he lived. Fans expressed their sympathy in the comments section of Hill's post.

Fellow musician Lucy Levinsohn Berman wrote, "Thank you for posting. Many of us are grieving David 'RollingCloud.' He has been a pillar of the Music community. He personally took my band, along with 2 other bands into his home when we were on tour. He housed and fed us and showed us ultimate kindness. He was one of the real ones. It's so sad his journey ended with your tour. I've followed and enjoyed your work. Glad the rest of your band and crew were able to live to tell. Catch you in Los Angeles. Take care."

Another follower wrote that he had toured with Rolling Cloud and described him as a beautiful soul who will be remembered forever. He sent positive vibes to Hill and his camps after this terrible experience.
