Sicario Franchise Confirmed: Third Film Production Set to Begin Soon
The dark, gritty world of Taylor Sheridan's "Sicario" saga is getting ready for another chapter. The original 2015 thriller shocked audiences with its raw take on drug cartels and quickly became a massive hit in the entertainment industry. A second installment, titled "Sicario: Day of the Soldado," dropped in 2018 featuring Josh Brolin and Benicio del Toro back in their roles. Both movies stand out as exceptional entries, with the first one helping Sheridan cement his status as a major player in Hollywood.

Now, confirmation is finally here regarding a third film. Josh Brolin, who portrays CIA operative Matt Graver, recently spoke to ScreenRant and stated that "Sicario 3" is happening. Production is set to begin soon. Rumors about this sinister and violent franchise had been circulating for a while, but details were scarce until now.

Thad Luckinbill, the star of "Lioness" and a producer on the first two films, also hinted that a sequel is very possible. He told Entertainment Weekly that he hopes to make it happen and crossed his fingers for another project dedicated to fans. For him personally, seeing the film would be great too. Even as a producer, he admitted he wants to watch it because he loves the material.

Fans across the industry should definitely hope this third movie doesn't just get made eventually but arrives sooner rather than later. We need all the amazing entertainment we can get right now, and nobody delivers quite like Sheridan. If you want to see how stunning cinematography and storytelling work with minimal dialogue, look at the tunnel entrance scene in the original "Sicario." It is a true masterclass in visual narrative.

Updates on this third entry will be tracked closely as they become available.
