Search Ends After Texas Boy Recovered Dead From Rough Surfside Beach Waters

Oct 13, 2026 •Crime

A tragic conclusion has ended the search for a sixteen-year-old boy from Texas who was swept away by strong currents while swimming with his girlfriend. Noah Dominguez went underwater Friday afternoon at Surfside Beach, sparking an immediate and frantic effort to locate him. Chief Philip Hester of the Surfside Beach Police Department said officers were called to the site near Blue Water Highway around 1:30 pm. By Sunday at 2 pm, Texas Equusearch confirmed that a body believed to be Dominguez had been recovered from the water.

The conditions on Friday were treacherous. Police stated the waters were rough, forcing rescuers to shift their focus from an active rescue operation to a grim recovery mission. The non-profit group issued a statement describing the loss as devastating and tragic. They extended deepest condolences to Noah's family, friends, and everyone who cared for him.

Family members have spoken out about the pain of this event. Haley Waguespack, a cousin of the teen, wrote on Facebook that his life was tragically robbed from him. She noted that Noah had endured an incredibly hard existence filled with abuse, neglect, and torment while under the care of his mother. Leyah Enouchs, another family member, described the boy as young and sweet, someone who deserved to be loved, protected, and given a chance to grow up and experience life.

Noah's mother, Tracee Marlow, is currently incarcerated. She wrote that she and her family did everything possible to help Noah finally act like a kid after enduring so much abuse throughout his childhood. Marlow said Noah could still be alive if he had received proper guidance from the one person expected to provide it most. Her message ended with fury, stating she would fight for justice until it was served.

Joanne Dominguez expressed that her soul is sad and devastated by grief. She mentioned they often talked about him wanting to see her graduate and wanted to come see her. She spoke of his father and said now he is with him in heaven, adding that she loves him so much. It hurts knowing how much life was ahead for him and the years he deserved to live. From shared memories as kids, family gatherings, Christmases, and moments experienced together, it is hard to understand how such a tragedy could happen. He was innocent and deserved so much better.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the Surfside Police Department for comment on the situation.
