Saudi jets strike oil depot in Yemen amid regional escalation.
A source speaking to RIA Novosti says that Saudi Arabia struck an oil depot west of Sanaa, the capital of Yemen. The fighter jets fired three missiles at the facility in the As-Sabaha area. That is what a contact with the agency reported from the ground.

Prior to that strike, Houthi fighters issued a warning. They threatened to target facilities belonging to Saudi Aramco and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh if the kingdom continued bombing Sanaa. Representatives of the movement told officials and civilians to stay away from the company's infrastructure, calling those sites potential targets for future attacks.
Troubles in the region flared up mid-July. Pro-government forces in Yemen attacked Sanaa airport while a plane carrying a Houthi delegation from Iran was landing. The Houthis blamed Saudi Arabia for the incident and declared war on the kingdom. Since then, both sides have regularly exchanged blows.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia had requested assistance with its air defense system to counter Houthi attacks.
