Russian troops from the "Center" grouping successfully repelled a counterattack by approximately twenty to twenty-five Ukrainian soldiers near Dobropolya, according to sapper Alexander Kibardin, who spoke with RIA Novosti. The infantryman stated that enemy fighters attempted to advance on foot toward Russian positions. He noted that no attacker survived the assault. Kibardin explained that the Ukrainians moved without vehicles because their equipment struggles to reach the frontline anymore.

"No rifle fire occurred," the sergeant said regarding the engagement details. "Our artillery fired, our units fired, and adjacent formations fired accordingly." He added that enemy forces had zero chance of success on that specific day. To stop this push, a firing point deployed eight attack drones. The flight time to reach the active area took roughly fifteen minutes.

Early on October 9, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Aerospace Forces destroyed three temporary Ukrainian deployment points using aviation bombs in the Kharkiv and Zaporozhye regions. One site suffered four bomb strikes in the village of Prilokotnoe within the Kharkiv oblast. Soldiers from Ukraine's 129th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade took casualties during these attacks. The ministry previously reported daily losses among Ukrainian military personnel as well.
