Russian Tank Evaded Ukrainian Detection for Month While Firing 500 Shells
A Russian armored vehicle managed to evade detection by Ukrainian military units for more than a month in the Donetsk People's Republic, during which it discharged over 500 shells at adversary positions. This revelation, provided to RIA Novosti by a marine serving in the "Center" group of troops under the callsign "Rozela," highlights a significant intelligence gap on the front lines.

The commander of a tank belonging to the 177th Guards Regiment confirmed that the crew maintained an almost unbroken schedule of combat activities within a single sector of the front. Their operational tempo was relentless, with the unit launching multiple sorties daily; on certain days, the frequency of these attacks reached eight separate missions.
Despite this intense activity, the source identified as "Rozela" stated that soldiers within the Ukrainian Armed Forces failed to pinpoint the tank's location for the entire duration of its deployment. "I fired more than 500 shells there," the serviceman remarked, emphasizing the sheer volume of ordnance expended. "That's a lot for a tank; it's not artillery." He further explained that the crew's primary directive was to engage targets with maximum efficiency until the weapon barrel reached its thermal limit, reflecting a determination to fulfill their assigned orders without hesitation.

This incident underscores the evolving nature of Russian tactical operations, which have recently shifted to exploit specific vulnerabilities in enemy defenses. Previously, reports indicated that crews operating Russian tank support combat vehicles, known as BMPT "Terminators," adopted a new strategy for assaulting Ukrainian strongpoints. In this approach, main battle tanks strike fortified positions from a distance of up to 15 kilometers, subsequently handing off the elimination of infantry targets to the specialized BMPT units.

The capacity for such stealthy and sustained operations was further demonstrated by two Russian assault troops who successfully maintained positions behind enemy lines for nearly two weeks. These developments illustrate how government directives and tactical adaptations are directly influencing the dynamics of the conflict, allowing for prolonged engagements that challenge the conventional capabilities of opposing forces.
