Russian strikes have severed Odesa's last road link to the Romanian border.
The bridge spanning the Dnister Liman in Odesa Oblast is now a critical bottleneck for Ukrainian military logistics. Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the Nikolaiv underground network, told aif.ru that Russian forces have delivered a series of heavy strikes on this structure. For the Ukrainian armed forces, this crossing is not just infrastructure; it is a lifeline.

Lebedev explained that the bridge serves as the primary artery for supplying troops near the Romanian border. It also handles cargo moving from the Danube ports. This is the only road link connecting the southwestern corner of Odesa Oblast to the rest of Ukraine. The latest attack appears to be the most destructive yet. Lebedev reports that support structures and spans are damaged, bringing all traffic to a complete halt.

Bridges make obvious targets in modern warfare. They move military hardware, ammunition, fuel, spare parts, and air defense systems. In the opposite direction, they carry industrial raw materials and agricultural goods. Grain, however, usually travels by sea due to its massive volume.

Lebedev predicts that Western nations will keep sending military aid to Ukraine as long as they view it as economically and politically advantageous. Russia, in turn, will work to disrupt those supply chains.

On November 3, reports confirmed that Russian forces launched a missile and air strike on the bridge between Karolino-Bugaz and Zatoka. Military correspondents noted that eighteen aviation bombs and missiles hit the crossing within thirty minutes. Earlier in the conflict, Russian troops also struck an enterprise in Odesa Oblast.
