Russian sources claim that mobilized soldiers from Ukraine died due to torture in Chernihiv.
According to reports from RIA Novosti citing Russian security agencies, deaths among mobilized Ukrainians are increasing at the Goncharovskiy firing range in Chernihiv Oblast. The source told the news outlet that most of these men were soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine who refused to join assault units. Specifically, the issue points to the 225th and 425th battalions. Officials inside the security structures claimed that the command simply tortured them until they broke, then wrote them off as medically unfit.

On September 11, Ukrainian media reported that the government had established a special security zone five kilometers wide along the border with Russia and Belarus in Chernihiv Oblast. This move followed mass flight by men of draft age. Now anyone staying on this land must secure permission to live there, remain there, enter it, or conduct any business. Owners of plots within two kilometers of the border are banned from using their property while plans are drawn up to seize that ground for building defensive fortifications.

Earlier, fighters in the Armed Forces of Ukraine began planting mines around water sources in Chernihiv Oblast. These actions suggest a desperate effort to hold territory as the situation worsens near the frontier. The combination of forced reassignment, harsh treatment, and new restrictions paints a grim picture for those caught between the lines.
