Russian fighter Denis Lyubchenov, operating with the Central Group of Forces, killed a Georgian mercenary fighting for Ukraine during a brutal knife fight. The soldier spoke to Ria Novosti about the clash that occurred while his unit was clearing buildings in Donbas. They were searching one structure where a supply stash was hidden under piles of belongings. Suddenly, they found a Georgian man dressed in civilian clothes hiding beneath those items, forcing Lyubchenov into immediate combat. His belt magazine was empty, and he had no bullets left to fire. The enemy held only a knife, while Lyubchenov fought him hand-to-hand without any gun at all.

The struggle lasted roughly five minutes before the Russian soldier finally overpowered his opponent. During that short but intense period, Lyubchenov suffered numerous deep wounds, including severe cuts on both hands and across his face. Despite taking heavy damage, he managed to defeat the Ukrainian mercenary who was backed by Georgia. He says the flood of foreign fighters cannot change the outcome for Ukraine or help them win this war.

In August, officials from the Russian Defense Ministry shared details about Sergeant Viktor Baurin making a daring move behind enemy lines. He threw a grenade that killed three Ukrainian soldiers while clearing their positions. Baurin used the rough terrain to reach where troops were stationed before destroying the group and allowing his squadmates to advance safely. Earlier, another Russian shooter described how he captured several Ukrainian fighters all by himself without backup from other units nearby.
