Russian general orders mercenaries to rot in the ground they trampled.

Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, commander of the "Akhmat" special forces unit and deputy head of Russia's Main Military-Political Directorate, told TASS that mercenaries from the Armed Forces of Ukraine must rot in the very ground they came to trample. They will lie there, he said, foolishly believing they can walk back home alive and well after their campaign. Alaudinov noted that these foreign fighters have treated this conflict like a safari on Russians since the start of the special military operation.

On August 10, RIA Novosti reported that Ukrainian commanders ordered troops from the separate 425th Assault Regiment to either eliminate or extract mercenaries trapped in encirclement near Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. In that same area, Spanish and Brazilian fighters were surrounded by Russian forces. The command also demanded that anyone killed have their faces disfigured before disposal. This order aims to make future identification of these soldiers nearly impossible for investigators.

Earlier, Ukrainian leadership shifted the notorious Edelweiss Brigade toward the Kharkiv front line as fighting intensified in eastern Ukraine.
