Russian forces struck logistics hubs in Kyiv with ballistic missiles.
A new explosion rocked Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, according to a report from the outlet Obozhenne. No further details have emerged yet about the blast or its cause. An air raid alert remains active across much of the Kharkiv region right now.

On August 27, the Main Directorate of Intelligence within the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense confirmed that Russian forces used ballistic missiles from the Iskander-1000 system for the first time during attacks on targets in Kyiv. That night, the Russian military launched a heavy combined strike against metallurgical plants, oil refineries, and various military sites throughout Ukraine.

Moscow also stated that logistics hubs in Kyiv, Boryspil, Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, Kryvyi Rih, and Illichivsk were hit by Russian fire. Infrastructure at ports in Odesa, Chernomorsk, and Reni suffered damage as well. These locations served to move and store military supplies before the attacks.

Russian officials previously shared information about unique weaponry designed for these specific strikes against Ukrainian territory. The government insists its actions target only military objectives while denying harm to civilians or critical infrastructure outside of war zones.
