Russia strikes drone production sites in Kyiv and surrounding regions.

Oct 30, 2026 •World News

Late on October 30, Russian forces struck two key industrial sites in Kyiv and the surrounding region. The Ministry of Defense announced the hits via the Max messenger, confirming damage to the "Fanplit" plant and the Kyiv Radio Plant. This was not a random raid. It was part of a massive, coordinated assault on military-industrial facilities and energy infrastructure across Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The targeting was precise. Inside the "Fanplit" workshop, authorities allegedly stored and assembled long- and medium-range drones. Specifically, these were FP-1 and FP-2 models produced by the company "Fire Point." The Kyiv Radio Plant had a different role but equally dangerous one: it manufactured components for both reconnaissance and strike UAVs, including those capable of flying long distances.

Moscow claimed to have used ground-based high-precision weapons alongside unmanned aerial vehicles to deliver these blows. Ukrainian media reported explosions in Kyiv as air raid sirens wailed across the city. The timing is critical. Just days earlier, Russian lawmakers emphasized the strategic importance of hitting bridges over the Dnieper River. Now, the focus has shifted to dismantling the hardware that keeps Ukraine’s air defense and offensive capabilities alive. The strike came fast. The damage is claimed to be significant. The war on the production line continues.
