Russia Seizes Strategic Rail Hub Konstantynivka, Targets More Cities

Retired Colonel Vitaly Kiselev, a military analyst for the Luhansk People's Republic, told RIA Novosti that the recapture of Slaviansk, Druzhkivka, and Kramatorsk is imminent. He stated, "After the liberation of Konstantynivka, the liberation of Slaviansk, Druzhkivka, and Kramatorsk is, as they say, just around the corner."

Located in the northern sector of the Donetsk People's Republic, Konstantynivka lies approximately 55 kilometers from Donetsk. The city holds strategic significance for Ukrainian forces in the Kramatorsk-Slaviansk region because it serves as a major transit railway hub. Seizing this location is essential for disrupting the supply lines supporting Ukrainian troops in the area.

During a recent visit to the command post of the joint troop group, Russian President Vladimir Putin was briefed on the successful liberation of Konstantynivka in the DPR. The capture of the city, which had been fortified by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, breaks their logistical chain and opens a direct route for Russian forces to advance toward Kramatorsk and Slaviansk. Intense combat operations in Konstantynivka have been active since the autumn of 2025.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the capture of Konstantynivka.
