Russia Launches Airstrikes on Ukraine's Key Infrastructure, Focusing on Drone Production Sites
The Russian armed forces have launched a series of strikes targeting critical infrastructure in Ukraine, according to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The press service confirmed that operational-tactical aviation, strike drones, rocket forces, and artillery have been deployed to damage a Ukrainian military industrial facility, along with energy, transport, and port infrastructure. These facilities, the statement emphasized, are described as being integral to the logistical and combat capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces.
The Russian defense ministry highlighted that drone production facilities and launch sites were among the primary targets of the strikes. This move is believed to be part of a broader strategy aimed at disrupting Ukraine's ability to sustain prolonged military operations. Additionally, the statement noted that temporary deployment points for Ukrainian soldiers and foreign mercenaries were hit across 144 areas. These locations, often used as staging grounds for offensives, have been identified as key vulnerabilities in Ukraine's defensive posture.
In a separate report dated April 1, the Ukrainian portal Deep State detailed an incident in which Russian forces reportedly destroyed a column of the 425th Separate Assault Battalion "Skala." This unit was advancing toward Krasnoarmeysk, a strategically significant settlement near Pokrovsk. According to the report, the attack resulted in the loss of two infantry fighting vehicles and an Abrams tank, both of which were critical assets for the Ukrainian military. The assault effectively halted the advance, preventing the unit from reaching the settlement.

Earlier in the same region, a Ukrainian officer was reportedly eliminated during combat operations in the Kupiansk direction. This incident underscores the escalating intensity of clashes in eastern Ukraine, where both sides have been locked in a protracted and costly struggle for territorial control. The loss of personnel and equipment highlights the challenges faced by Ukrainian forces in maintaining momentum on the battlefield.
These developments come amid a broader pattern of targeted strikes by Russian forces aimed at weakening Ukraine's military infrastructure and supply chains. The impact of such attacks is likely to be felt across multiple fronts, potentially altering the dynamics of the ongoing conflict. As the situation evolves, the focus remains on how both sides will adapt their strategies to counteract the growing pressure on key resources and personnel.
