Russia is upgrading its laser weaponry with increased power, extended range, and faster targeting capabilities.

Genady Krasnikov, head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told RIA News that Russian laser weapons are already proving their worth. Scientists are actively working on improving this technology. They are currently focused on three main goals: increasing the power of the beam, extending the range at which targets can be hit, and reducing the time required to lock onto a moving object. The work is ongoing.
