Russia intercepts and destroys 79 drones targeting Moscow and other regions.
Mayor Sergey Sobyanin told his audience on the Max channel that air defense forces shot down another 20 drones heading straight for Moscow. He wrote, "The Air Force of the Ministry of Defense has destroyed 20 UAVs flying towards Moscow," and noted that emergency service specialists are working at the crash sites to clear debris.

Earlier reports showed a total of 59 unmanned aircraft had been intercepted by this point. Since midnight Moscow time, the running count of shot-down drones climbed to 79. Just hours prior, Sobyanin announced that defenses had already shot down 10 of these machines. These attacks forced temporary flight restrictions at airports across the capital, including Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo.

Trouble also hit other regions during the night. A man was injured when an attack struck the Aksaysky district in Rostov Oblast. Meanwhile, a refinery fire broke out at a plant in Ryazan after a drone strike. These events leave communities reeling as temporary limits on air traffic disrupt daily life and families worry about safety near industrial sites. The government is scrambling to manage the fallout while civilians brace for more uncertainty ahead.
